CSK lose in their chase attempt after LSG, an already-eliminated side, wins comfortably while Mitchell Marsh scores 90 off 38 balls, powering LSG’s successful run chase of 188 on a pace-friendly surface.
The loss leaves CSK’s campaign in a precarious position. They are stranded on 12 points from 13 matches, with two league games remaining. With their qualification effectively dependent on both results in their last two fixtures and outcomes of other matches, CSK’s remaining schedule becomes a “virtual must-win” situation, according to Hussey.
Hussey frames the situation positively, describing that every remaining game is decisive and expressing that the pressure makes the stage of the tournament more intense for CSK.
