West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s helicopter makes an emergency landing at Kolaghat after bad weather disrupts his scheduled trip. The pilot turns the aircraft and lands it at a ground near Kolaghat as a precaution, and the chief minister continues his travel by road.
Adhikari was travelling from Dumdum in Kolkata to Keshpur in West Medinipur to attend a programme commemorating freedom fighter Khudiram Bose. Mint reports the landing happens in Kolaghat due to adverse weather and that Adhikari resumes his journey by road. Free Press Journal, citing IANS, adds that the helicopter cannot land at the intended destination due to deteriorating conditions and specifies the landing at the Balaka Manch ground in Kolaghat. Both accounts state there are no reports of injuries or other incidents following the precautionary landing.
