Equity mutual fund inflows moderate in July, dropping 15% to about ₹24,697 crore from ₹28,973 crore in June, with industry data cited by multiple outlets. The change also includes the first monthly withdrawal from large-cap funds in nearly three years, marking a shift in where investors allocate new money.
Within equity categories, small-cap funds attract the strongest demand, recording their highest-ever monthly inflow of about ₹7,767 crore. Mid-cap funds also see firm inflows of roughly ₹6,192 crore, while flexi-cap funds receive around ₹4,709 crore. Other equity categories grow or contract unevenly: multicap inflows rise modestly, while focused funds see a sharp decline in inflows according to one report.
Outlets also report that hybrid and passive/ETF-related flows soften in July. Hybrid fund inflows fall to about ₹11,490 crore from roughly ₹12,892 crore in June, driven by declines in some hybrid sub-categories, while arbitrage funds remain the largest contributor within hybrids. Separately, one outlet notes a rebound in debt fund inflows in July, reversing prior outflows over the previous two months, though that is outside the equity focus of the other headline figures.
