Universal Studios is planning to add sound barriers to reduce the volume of screams from its newest coaster, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, after complaints from residents in a nearby Los Angeles neighborhood. The ride is in a soft opening period and is also undergoing technical rehearsals, according to reports.
The dispute centers on the “disturbing” noise neighbors say they experience, including during ride operation and rehearsal/testing phases. A Los Angeles councilmember says the sound barriers are intended to dampen the audio from the attraction and address ongoing concerns from the Toluca Lake area.
