Isaac Fayose calls for APC disqualification over alleged senator’s threat in Osun election

Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has called for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to be disqualified from the forthcoming Osun State governorship election.Speaking in a video posted on his verified Facebook page, Fayose was reacting to a viral video in which a serving APC senator, Francis Fadahunsi, allegedly issued an open threat against members of the Accord Party.In the widely circulated clip, Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East Senatorial District, was heard addressing APC supporters in Ilesa and directing them to “kill” any Accord Party members they encounter ahead of Saturday’s poll. The remarks, made during a protest over alleged attacks on APC members, sparked widespread condemnation and led to the senator being summoned by the Osun State Police Command.Fayose argued that the senator’s statement, coming from a leading APC figure, amounted to an open threat of violence and constituted grounds for the party’s disqualification from the election. He maintained that a political party whose prominent member publicly calls for the elimination of opponents should not be allowed to participate in the democratic process.The governorship election is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026, with incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party seeking re-election against the APC’s Bola Oyebamiji and other candidates.
