A spokesman of the City Boys Movement, Bashir Ahmad, mocks Afrobeats artist David Adeleke (Davido) ahead of the Osun State governorship election. In a post on X, Ahmad tells Davido to wait for US President Donald Trump to deploy troops to help “his uncle” win the election.
The comment follows Davido’s own post about campaign momentum ahead of the August 15 vote, where he says: “We go all crase together! Dem think say them get crase they will meet their match this weekend!” Ahmad’s reply escalates an ongoing public feud between the two. Sources also note Davido is the nephew of incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking re-election under the Accord Party.
One angle across the reports is that Davido has publicly campaigned and previously appealed to Trump and the international community to monitor the election due to concerns about possible violence or intimidation. Ahmad, described as a former presidential media aide and an APC chieftain, has repeatedly criticised Davido’s involvement, including earlier claims that some remarks amounted to “cheap blackmail” and predictions about Davido’s reaction if results do not favour his uncle.
