OPEP troops rescue Plateau kidnapping victim after abductors abandon her

Troops of Sector 3 of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) on Tuesday rescued a female kidnap victim, Mrs Paulina Alfred, after her abductors abandoned her under pressure from the security forces in Plateau State.According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the 47-year-old woman was kidnapped from her residence in Dong Village, Jos North Local Government Area. The rescue followed distress calls from members of the community.Makama, quoting military sources, said the troops launched a search operation at about 7:00 a.m. and tracked the kidnappers to the Rafin Bauna general area in Bassa Local Government Area.As the troops intensified their search, the kidnappers came under pressure, abandoned the victim, and fled into the surrounding area.“Mrs Alfred was found and rescued by the troops without further harm. Following the rescue, the victim was debriefed by security personnel before being reunited with her family,” he added.
