A semi-professional footballer, Connor Charlton, is jailed after footage showed him driving at 191mph. The court also hears he took part in a scheme involving other drivers, who are paid cash to take penalty points for speeding offences.
Charlton, 32, plays for Nostell Miners Welfare in the Northern Counties East League. He is sentenced at Leeds Crown Court to four years in prison for offences that include dangerous driving, and is also given a driving ban of four years and seven months.
According to the Crown Prosecution Service, Charlton admits multiple counts of dangerous driving and offences of perverting the course of justice. The prosecution releases video footage, including one in which Charlton is shown drifting a BMW at a roundabout and footage of him driving at 191mph on a motorway in the West Yorkshire area.
