The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has recovered more than N115 billion in outstanding statutory levies owed to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by oil companies covering 2021 to 2023. EFCC says the recovery is disclosed to Nigeria’s Senate Committee on Public Accounts as part of efforts linked to NEITI audit findings.
According to the outlets, the money includes a N76.883 billion component and a reported $81.076 million (other reporting cites about $84 million) in levies. One outlet says EFCC’s actions clear 19 oil firms, while another says 24 oil firms are involved after the probe.
