CJP leader Saurav Das alleges that Puducherry police “intimidated” his family after police visited their home. He claims the visit amounted to harassment and alleges intimidation tactics by the Puducherry government.

Puducherry police, however, reject the allegation. A senior police official says the police visit to Das’s relatives’ home is part of a “routine exercise,” describing it as a standard security or questioning check rather than an action linked to any political motive. Times of India adds that the checks take place in the period leading up to Independence Day celebrations. India Today and The Hindu similarly report the dispute, with police characterising the visit as routine and Das presenting it as intimidation.
