Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 lineup is the focus of fresh reporting on memory capacity. Analyst Jeff Pu says the base iPhone 18 would receive a notable RAM upgrade to 12GB, compared with the 8GB reported for the iPhone 17. Pu also claims iPhone 18 models could adopt a redesigned Dynamic Island element, which he associates with iPhone 18 Pro changes.
Other coverage highlights that Pu’s view conflicts with a separate assessment by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Kuo previously reported that both iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e would have 9GB of RAM. Multiple outlets note that Pu instead attributes the 9GB figure specifically to the iPhone 18e, while maintaining that the standard iPhone 18 would be the one at 12GB.
Both analysts’ statements, as reported, also align on expected processing hardware: the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are said to use Apple’s A20 chip. Timing details are described as iPhone 18 arriving by around March 2027 and iPhone 18e launching in spring.
