Air India and AI Express announce that they will carry out full screening of all pilots for any prohibited substances and medications starting August 13. The move includes checking for psychoactive substances that are not permitted under prevailing aviation regulations.
Testing is set to be conducted alongside pilot training at Air India’s Gurgaon academy, or after flights at airports or other locations communicated by the airlines’ respective bases. The airlines frame the measure as a standardized compliance step applying to all pilots.
