A seven-year-old boy, Musa Ahmed, dies after getting into difficulty in the water at West Mersea beach on 22 July. Reports say he passes away six days later, having suffered serious injury.
Other people also die in the same incident. Multiple outlets state that Musa’s cousin, 15-year-old Sameeha Rahman, drowns, along with Sameeha’s mother, Shelina Rahman, 41. One report says an inquest hears that Musa suffers a brain injury following the drowning.
The accounts largely align on the date, location and the three fatalities, but they differ in emphasis. One outlet focuses on Musa’s delayed death and the medical impact, while another frames the incident as part of a family holiday and highlights the identities and ages of all those who die.
