Brussels transforms its historic Grand Place into a large floral artwork inspired by Katsushika Hokusai’s “The Great Wave off Kanagawa.” The installation features a “wave” design made from flowers, replacing the usual cobblestones with a carpet-like display.
Euronews and Japan Today describe the event as a dahlia-based interpretation of the famous Japanese print. Euronews reports the display covers about 1,300 square metres and uses roughly 500,000 dahlias arranged to recreate the wave motif.
