Matic rolls out a software update called “Matic Cues” that adds direct voice and gesture control to its robot vacuum and mop. Users can speak to the robot with commands such as “Hey Matic, vacuum the kitchen,” and the device starts cleaning without requiring a phone app or additional smart-home intermediary.
The update also introduces gesture control, including pointing at a mess for the robot to perform spot cleaning. Matic Cues supports understanding spoken commands in more than 70 languages. According to the company, the feature is rolling out over the air to existing Matic robots and will be included on new units.
