SATS is looking into a claim that its airport wheelchair assistant’s pay was docked for being 11 seconds late. The issue involves the assistant employed by SATS’ service partner, Aventa Services, and SATS says it is seeking clarification from the partner.

It notes that pay deductions for absence from work cannot exceed the employee’s salary for the period of absence. SATS and Aventa are examining what occurred and whether the deduction complies with applicable rules.
