The attack reportedly occurred on January 16 of last year, when Fakir allegedly entered the Bandra apartment and confronted household staff and the actor.
According to reports, Fakir is a Bangladeshi national and is accused of offences including robbery-related charges, house trespass, illegal entry into India, and staying in the country under a fictitious identity. Prosecutors allege he demanded money and held members of the household at knifepoint after entering through a bathroom. Khan intervenes during the confrontation, sustaining injuries that required emergency treatment and surgery.
Both outlets note that Fakir disputes aspects of the process and says he has not been supplied with the chargesheet and related documents. The court directs the prosecution to provide relevant materials, after which the trial is expected to begin. The case is now at a “key stage,” more than a year after the alleged incident.
