Disney and BBC Studios release a first look at “The Bluey Movie,” a feature adaptation of the animated children’s series. The movie is scheduled to premiere in theaters on Aug. 6, 2027, continuing Bluey’s adventures with her family—Bluey, her Mum, her Dad, and her little sister, Bingo.
Sources also report that the film expands the show’s format for the big screen with an updated 3D animation style while keeping the characters’ overall look. FirstShowing notes that Disney unveiled a teaser tied to the D23 event, showing brief footage of Bluey and Bingo playing a keepy-uppy game. Both outlets describe the story as a continuation of the series, and FirstShowing specifies that Joe Brumm, the original creator, is writing and directing the movie. FirstShowing further states that original voice actors Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack reprise their roles as Bluey’s Mum (Chilli Heeler) and Dad (Bandit Heeler).
