Troops from Nigeria’s Operation Hadin Kai repel an attempted ISWAP attack on a Forward Operating Base in Mandaragirau, within Biu Local Government Area of Borno State. The incident is reported as occurring in the early hours of 15 August 2026, when ISWAP fighters launch an offensive against the base and are engaged in a firefight.
According to a statement attributed to the Acting Military Information Officer, Captain Mohammed (Muhammed) Goni, the attack begins around 02:00 and involves fighters approaching from two fronts.
