French prosecutors say around 10 previously unidentified alleged victims have contacted authorities in an ongoing investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged trafficking network. The Paris prosecutor leading the case says the new information widens the French inquiry into possible crimes committed in France, or offences involving French accomplices or perpetrators connected to the late US financier. Sources describe the probe as examining whether French nationals helped facilitate or were otherwise involved in abuse linked to Epstein.
The investigation follows France’s opening of a human trafficking-related probe after the US Department of Justice released additional materials in January from its own Epstein case. Epstein died in prison in 2019 while facing charges related to trafficking underage girls for sex.
French magistrates are now assessing the claims from the newly contacting individuals, including whether the conduct took place on French territory or whether relevant French links exist within the broader Epstein network. The matter remains under investigation, with prosecutors still determining the facts and potential legal implications based on the new leads.
