Governor Ademola Adeleke, the Accord Party governorship candidate in Osun State, recorded a decisive victory at his polling unit during Saturday’s election, sparking jubilation among his supporters.At Ward 02, Polling Unit 009, Abogunde Compound in Ede North Local Government Area, Adeleke secured 421 votes. Supporters erupted in celebration as the result was announced.The election, which saw voting conclude around mid-afternoon, features Adeleke, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, and ADC candidate Najeem Salaam among 16 contenders vying for the mandate of Osun’s electorate.Earlier, Adeleke expressed confidence in his chances after casting his ballot at Sagba Abogunde Ward 2, Unit 9. Oyebamiji, voting in Irewole Local Government, also voiced optimism, while Salaam raised concerns about the alleged non-recognition of ADC agents in some areas.As of 5:24 p.m., the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had uploaded 1,386 out of 3,763 polling unit results to its IReV portal, with collation ongoing across the state.
