According to reports, a complaint is lodged on March 16 by Rajat Jaiswal, president of the Varanasi chapter of the BJP Yuva Morcha, alleging that the event and the disposal of non-veg food waste caused hurt to Hindu sentiments. The police register cases against multiple men accused of organising the iftar. Several accused seek bail during the proceedings.

Times of India adds that the court also grants bail to the remaining accused in the group, indicating multiple bail orders within the same matter. The court’s remarks focus on the potential impact of dumping non-veg waste in the Ganga on religious feelings, even as the case proceeds through legal process.
