Publicis Groupe is set to acquire data collaboration platform LiveRamp in a cash deal valued in reported sources at about $2.2 billion to $2.55 billion. Bloomberg reports the agreement is for roughly $2.5 billion in cash, while Adweek and the Financial Times cite about $2.2 billion. The Wall Street Journal says the transaction would be Publicis’s largest acquisition since 2019. Several outlets describe the purchase as part of Publicis’s push to expand marketing technology capabilities, including use of data in connection with artificial intelligence. Adweek and PYMNTS note that LiveRamp’s data capabilities are intended to support Publicis’s commerce media efforts and help in developing AI-enabled “agentic” capabilities. Adweek also reports that LiveRamp will remain agnostic under the new ownership. Across coverage, the deal is framed as further ad-tech consolidation as advertising companies invest in data and technology platforms amid changing market conditions.
