A 1.5-year-old toddler is in critical condition after falling from the third floor of a residential building in Bengaluru, police said. The incident occurs around 10:50 a.m. on August 15 in the Chikka Adugodi area, under the jurisdiction of Madiwala Police Station.
Police and local reports indicate the child had been left unattended while playing near a balcony. The toddler reportedly climbs onto a balcony grill before falling three floors to the ground. Residents rush to help immediately after hearing about the incident.
Because of the urgency, residents reportedly take the injured child to a private hospital in Koramangala, transporting them by motorcycle due to lack of time to wait for an ambulance. The child is undergoing treatment and remains in critical condition. The reports also highlight renewed concerns about safety in residential buildings, particularly around balconies, and police urge guardians not to leave young children unattended, even briefly.
