The National Testing Agency (NTA) orders re-examinations for three UGC-NET papers after identifying extensive mistakes, including repeated questions, misspellings and factual errors. A review of the English, Commerce and Sociology question papers leads the agency to cancel the earlier papers for those subjects.

The fresh tests are scheduled for September 9 and 10. NTA also states candidates taking these re-tests will not be charged any additional examination fees. The decision follows complaints submitted by candidates about alleged factual and typographical issues in the question papers. For the remaining 84 subjects, NTA plans to proceed with results as originally scheduled, rather than conducting additional examinations.
