Mozilla is introducing an experimental, built-in ad-blocking feature for Firefox on iOS. The feature filters advertising content and related elements—such as ads, trackers, pop-ups, and overlays—using a network-level approach. Mozilla describes it as reducing the amount of advertising shown while browsing.
The blocker is controlled by users and can be enabled or disabled from Firefox settings or the Site menu. Mozilla implements the filtering using an EasyList-based filter, and it is designed to avoid blocking certain categories, including search-result advertising and content sponsored or hosted by Firefox.
Outlets report that Mozilla is releasing the feature through a progressive rollout, meaning access is limited at first. AppleInsider notes the change arrives via a support page, while NDTV says Mozilla has not confirmed when it will reach all users.
