Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s campaign team denies having any political agreement with President Bola Tinubu after remarks by Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo. In statements shared on X, the Imole/Imole Campaign Council spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, says Adeleke’s endorsement of Tinubu’s 2027 re-election is not tied to a prior pact.
Keyamo had congratulated Adeleke and wrote, “Agreement is agreement,” prompting online speculation about a possible deal between the governor and the president. Across the reports, Adeleke’s camp counters that there is “no agreement,” and frames its support as based on Tinubu’s performance and economic reforms, rather than any arrangement. The camp also argues that Adeleke’s re-election reflects voters’ choice in Osun.
The outlets further cite the outcome of the August 15 governorship election: INEC declares Adeleke of the Accord Party winner with 511,067 votes, defeating APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815. Adeleke, now entering a second term, previously reaffirmed backing for Tinubu and described him as a “son of Osun State.”
