Saatvik Solar Industries is planning to add 3.6 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity at Gopalpur in Odisha. The company says its manufacturing buildup at the site is nearing commissioning, where it already operates a larger integrated manufacturing footprint that includes cell and module production.
Multiple outlets report that the planned 3.6 GW effort is described as a Phase II cell facility. Business Line says Saatvik Solar inks an initial pact and/or an MoU with the Odisha government for the project, framing the new plant as part of a broader manufacturing development at Gopalpur. PV Magazine adds context by noting that, alongside the planned 3.6 GW cell capacity, Saatvik’s existing facilities at the site include a 2.4 GW cell line and a 4 GW module manufacturing facility.
