Arise Television host Rufai Oseni cautions Nigerians not to assume that the results of the 2026 Osun State governorship election will be repeated in the 2027 general elections. Speaking on Arise Television’s The Morning Show, he says people must factor in changing conditions and risks as the next election cycle approaches.

Oseni argues that the political and security environment in 2027 will be more complex than what voters experienced in Osun. He points to the role of federal power deployed during the Osun vote, saying it could be intensified “threefold” in 2027, and he frames his comments as a form of risk assessment rather than an attempt to discourage participation. He also says those who believe Osun’s outcome will automatically translate to 2027 are “delusional,” adding that election actors may “go back to the drawing board” to improve their approach.

Both outlets report that INEC declares Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party as the Osun election winner.
