Israel’s largest crypto broker Bits of Gold says it has suffered a data breach that could have affected about 200,000 customers. The company reports that a hacker gained access through a third-party data analytics system. Bits of Gold says the incident may have exposed customer personal data but does not show that customers’ cryptocurrency holdings were taken.
In its disclosure, Bits of Gold says customer funds and digital assets are not touched and that there is no indication that private keys, passwords, CVV codes, or scanned identity documents were compromised. The data it says may be exposed includes names, national identification numbers, contact details, bank account information, and IP addresses, along with public wallet addresses. The company attributes the breach to what it describes as a wider global attack.
Across the reports, the main differences are limited to phrasing and emphasis. CoinDesk highlights potential exposure of bank and national ID details, while NDTV lists a broader set of data fields and specifically urges customers to watch for phishing.
