Deutsche Telekom has agreed to buy fibre and television assets in Poland from Macquarie Asset Management in a deal valued at around €1 billion (about $1.2 billion) on an enterprise-value basis. The acquisition supports Deutsche Telekom’s expansion of its broadband offering.
According to reports, the assets involve prominent Polish operators, including Fiberhost and INEA, which provide fibre and TV services. The Next Web frames the purchase as part of a broader effort to offer “converged” bundles that combine mobile, broadband, and television into a single monthly package. Bloomberg describes the transaction in terms of Deutsche Telekom’s wider strategy to grow in broadband, without focusing as specifically on bundling.
While both outlets agree on the parties involved, the target sectors, and the approximate deal size, they emphasize different angles: one highlights market convergence in Poland, while the other emphasizes Deutsche Telekom’s broadband expansion plans.
