The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) says more than 200 lecturers and professors leave Kaduna State University (KASU) following poor conditions of service and the university’s failure to implement the 2025 Federal Government–ASUU Agreement. ASUU-KASU frames the departures as an ongoing exodus of experienced staff and links it to what it says are low pay and unmet welfare commitments.

ASUU-KASU also issues pressure on KASU authorities, including a two-week ultimatum to implement the agreement. The union warns that if demands are not met, it could declare an industrial dispute and proceed with an indefinite strike, citing an earlier national resolution. Across the reports, the immediate trigger is the non-implementation of the agreement, which is described as beginning in January 2026. Some outlets emphasize the scale of resignations and the strike threat, while others add details about repeated letters to KASU management and other government stakeholders, plus additional unresolved local issues such as promotion arrears and pension remittances.
