The United Nations says 350 aid workers are killed worldwide in 2025, an “unacceptable” toll that it condemns as attacks on humanitarians. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) cites figures from Humanitarian Outcomes in a statement marking World Humanitarian Day, noting that the 2025 total is slightly lower than the 2024 figure of 377.
The UN says the highest number of fatalities occurs in Gaza and Sudan. While most reporting focuses on the 2025 death count and the UN’s condemnation, one outlet adds related figures for the period since the start of 2026, reporting 82 more aid workers killed, 97 injured, and 39 abducted. Together, the accounts highlight both the year-end toll and the continuation of high-risk conditions for humanitarian personnel into 2026.
