Connor Zilisch signs a multi-year deal with Hendrick Motorsports and will drive the team’s No. 48 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Cup Series beginning in 2028. Multiple outlets report the agreement is now official, following a period of anticipation around the move.

The transition is linked to Alex Bowman’s schedule. Outlets state Bowman will leave full-time racing at the end of the 2027 season, and Zilisch is set to replace him in the No. 48 car. Coverage also notes that Zilisch is currently a rookie driving for Trackhouse Racing and is 20 years old.

While outlets differ mainly in emphasis and phrasing, they converge on the same core points: the contract is multi-year, Zilisch joins Hendrick Motorsports, the ride is the No. 48, and the start date is the 2028 Cup season.
