Binance is reportedly preparing to seek authorisation from the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in order to return to the country’s regulated crypto market. According to reports, Binance’s UK business has been unable to offer regulated activities since June 2021.

The reports say Binance is planning to apply under the FCA’s new crypto authorisation framework. One outlet reports that the exchange could submit an application after the FCA opens an authorisation gateway on September 30. It is also reported that, if approved, Binance could resume regulated services under the framework from October 25, 2027.

While all accounts describe the same overall direction—securing FCA licensing for a UK return—details vary on timing and the specifics of the application. One outlet says Binance has not confirmed the plans publicly or identified which entity would apply. Other reporting also points to the regulatory process beginning once the FCA’s gateway opens.
