Dangote Refinery cuts its LPG (cooking gas) price again, with reports saying its gantry price drops to N950 per kilogram. The change triggers a wider market response as depot owners and marketers review and reduce their own pricing, with households expecting relief amid high living costs.
Across outlets, a market survey approach is used to describe how prices move downstream. One source says Dangote lowers the LPG gantry price from N950 by N30 per kg, while another reports the same N950 figure after a N30 reduction. Depots and major marketers follow, with ex-depot prices generally reported in the N955–N960 per kg range after cuts. Retail prices at filling stations are reported to vary, including ranges around N1,300–N1,450 per kg in Abuja and other outlets listing higher rates in parts of the city.
Some coverage also links the pricing environment to changes in supply, noting that LPG imports surge sharply, citing NMDPRA data on a 1,400% increase in June. While the outlets agree on the direction of the price changes, they differ in how granular they are about depot and retail price bands and which firms are named.
