The Philippine state weather bureau, Pagasa, is issuing red and orange rainfall warnings across parts of Luzon as the southwest monsoon (habagat) continues to affect the country. Several locations may experience heavy to torrential rain, with Pagasa warning of possible severe flooding in areas under the red warning.
In Tuesday advisories cited by outlets, a red rainfall warning is placed over Bataan and portions of Batangas and Zambales, while an orange warning covers additional nearby areas. Pagasa advises communities to take precautionary measures because severe flooding is expected where the red warning applies. Later updates also maintain heavy rainfall warnings in other Luzon areas into Tuesday afternoon.
On Wednesday, one report says a red rainfall warning is expanded to include Metro Manila along with more parts of Luzon, including Zambales, Bulacan, Pampanga, and Batangas. Other reports focus more narrowly on Bataan, Batangas, and Zambales, reflecting differences in how Pagasa’s warning coverage shifts by time and location. Despite the changing map, all accounts stress that the warnings are linked to ongoing habagat and the associated risk of flooding.
