The Esports Foundation postpones the inaugural Esports Nations Cup (ENC), originally planned for November 2026, to November 2027, with the event still set to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The foundation says the change follows continuing uncertainty tied to the wider regional situation, and it consults stakeholders before making the decision.

ENC is designed to bring together national esports teams and partners from more than 100 countries and territories across 16 esports titles. Multiple outlets report that Saudi Arabia remains able to host major events as scheduled, and that the postponement does not remove EF’s commitment to the competition. Both also note that EF intends to keep working with national team partners and publishers while adjusting planning around the new dates.

The main difference in coverage is emphasis: one outlet frames the move as a response to broader regional conditions, while the other highlights operational continuity, including ongoing development fund commitments and ecosystem work tied to the ENC until the inaugural tournament in 2027.
