APC’s Bola Oyebamiji acknowledges Osun election result after defeat

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the recently concluded Osun State governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, has spoken publicly for the first time since his loss to incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke.In a statement posted on his verified X handle, Oyebamiji acknowledged the declaration of results by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which announced Adeleke as winner with 511,067 votes against his 444,815.Oyebamiji expressed gratitude to APC supporters and party leaders across Osun for their dedication to his campaign, noting that he remained thankful to those who believed in the alternative vision he presented.“Although we had hoped for a different outcome in the election, we respect the position of the electoral umpire, and I totally support the decision of our party in its ongoing review of the outcome,” he said.He emphasized that while the campaign had ended, the values and causes it championed would continue to guide his political efforts.“The campaign has come to an end and the election is over, but the values and causes we championed are alive. We will continue to work for effective, inclusive and rapid development of our dear Osun,” Oyebamiji added.
