A Nigerian cleric, Primate Elijah Ayodele, warns President Bola Tinubu to address public grievances before the 2027 general election, saying Nigerians may use the ballot to express anger. In a statement issued through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele says failure to act could weaken Tinubu’s prospects for re-election.

Ayodele alleges that people around the president are deceiving him about the state of the country and are primarily seeking financial benefit. He also warns that party members who fail to secure tickets could oppose Tinubu. The cleric adds that attempts to manipulate or rig the election would be resisted by voters, and suggests that a coalition of opposition figures—including Atiku Abubakar—could remove the president if the administration does not respond to citizens’ concerns.

The outlets largely agree on the core claims: Ayodele’s call for the government to “pacify” Nigerians, his warnings about deception by insiders and internal party problems, and his view that opposition coalitions and voter resistance could shape the 2027 outcome.
