Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals (DPRP) says it secures a $1 billion underwriting programme as it prepares for a planned initial public offering (IPO) in Lagos. All three reports describe the backing as split between a $600 million private placement that is already funded and a further $400 million underwriting commitment tied to the IPO.

The programme is said to be structured by Marob Strategies and Consulting DIFC Ltd and Lilium Capital Group. One outlet adds that the $600 million private placement is underwritten and funded by Pan-African Refinery Investment SPV, a subsidiary of Lilium Capital Group. Another report similarly credits Marob and Lilium for the $1 billion underwriting backing.

While the outlets largely align on the size and structure of the underwriting package, they place different emphasis on implications. Nigerian Eye and Vanguard focus on the role of the programme in supporting the planned listing and capital-market preparation. The Rio Times frames the arrangement primarily as external financial backing for the IPO, noting $600 million already funded and $400 million promised.
