YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, says content creation can offer better financial prospects than working in Bollywood films. In a social media post, he argues that the film industry is often assumed to pay more, but that “it’s usually the opposite.” He adds that only about 30 people at the very top of Bollywood make “real money.”

Allahbadia says that, unlike acting, content creation offers room for thousands of people to build sustainable careers without necessarily reaching actor-level fame. He frames the difference as being less about who becomes a household name and more about who can develop an audience and monetise it over time.

Different outlets focus on related perspectives from others in the industry. The Times of India notes that filmmaker Farah Khan has also discussed earning more through digital content, including her cooking and travel vlogs, while still stating a preference for direction as her primary passion. Free Press Journal similarly references comparisons made by other creator-actors who discuss ownership and earning potential in digital spaces.
