Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu calls on African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar to “call his supporters to order” after allegations of online attacks on supporters of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Peter Obi. She makes the appeal in a post on her verified X account on Tuesday evening, saying she has been among those targeted.

Yesufu alleges that supporters of Atiku have been “on a rampage” on social media, targeting Obi’s backers. She frames the remarks around political decency and sportsmanship, adding that she has previously worked with Atiku in the same political party and expects better conduct. She also argues that opposition supporters should focus on challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress and President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election rather than fighting among themselves.

Both outlets report the same core claim: Yesufu’s appeal to Atiku follows reported tensions between rival opposition camps as the 2027 election approaches, with the dispute centered on alleged behavior in online political spaces.
