Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman travels to Singapore to take part in the fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR), scheduled for August 19-20, according to India’s Finance Ministry. The meeting is described as a high-level mechanism to review bilateral economic cooperation and identify additional areas for collaboration.

The Finance Ministry and other reports say Sitharaman leads a ministerial delegation that also includes External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Minister of State Jitin Prasada. The roundtable focuses on advancing cooperation across several pillars, including advanced manufacturing, connectivity, digitalisation, healthcare and medicine, skills development, and sustainability. Officials say the discussions build on progress from earlier ISMR rounds and aim to explore further opportunities to strengthen economic partnership.

Mint reports that alongside the ministers, a business delegation of about 70 leaders is also in Singapore, suggesting a parallel private-sector focus on investment and new partnerships. Other outlets emphasize the government-to-government review role of the ISMR and note that Jaishankar arrives ahead of the meeting, highlighting coordination across India’s external affairs and economic portfolios.
