Zepto increases the minimum order value required to get free delivery to ₹199, from ₹149, according to reports published on August 19. The updated threshold applies in select cities and PIN codes.
The change is part of Zepto’s ongoing adjustments to its quick-commerce pricing and delivery economics. Earlier, the company raised the threshold from ₹99 to ₹149 for some users. Reports also say that during periods of very high demand, the minimum order value can rise further to ₹299.
India Today frames the move as bringing Zepto closer to rivals’ pricing, noting parity with competitors such as Blinkit and Swiggy. Other reporting emphasizes potential financial and operational impacts, including reducing delivery-related costs and helping manage cash burn, which could affect competitive dynamics in India’s quick-commerce market where companies compete on speed and pricing.
