Behari Lal Engineering Ltd makes a strong stock market debut, listing on both BSE and NSE at more than a 63% premium to its IPO price and continuing to rally afterward. According to one report, the shares open around Rs 458 on BSE and Rs 465 on NSE, compared with an IPO issue price of Rs 285.
The company, an integrated iron and steel manufacturer, raises Rs 302 crore through its initial public offering. The IPO receives heavy demand, with the issue reported as subscribed over 100 times. The proceeds from the fresh issue are intended for capital expenditure, including new equipment and machinery, installation work, and rooftop solar panels at two manufacturing facilities, alongside repayment or prepayment of certain borrowings and general corporate purposes.
Across outlets, the main difference is emphasis. One focuses on listing numbers and valuation following the debut, while the other highlights post-listing price movement and broker commentary. Economic Times reports brokerages broadly remain positive, citing strong investor appetite and valuations, while also suggesting investors consider booking partial profits after the sharp gains.
