The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrests a man from Hisar connected to a trafficking network accused of sending Indian nationals to scam compounds in Southeast Asia under promises of lucrative overseas work. Authorities allege victims are taken to locations mainly in Myanmar and Cambodia, where they are subjected to forced labour conditions described as “cyber slavery.”

Both outlets describe recruitment of victims through deception, including promises of jobs abroad. They say the CBI case involves agents and facilitators who transport victims to the scam compounds and maintain control, including alleged demands that victims pay to escape or bring in another person to be allowed to leave. The CBI also cites evidence such as recovered materials from seized mobile devices and alleged use of social media and messaging apps for recruitment and communication.

The Free Press Journal adds additional detail, including that the accused reportedly sent at least four people from the Hisar area in 2025 and that investigators examine cryptocurrency-related transactions tied to commissions paid by scam operators. It also notes that CBI registered the case in December 2025, conducted searches across multiple locations in 2026, and arrested other accused earlier in the investigation. The Hindu focuses on the arrest and the broader allegation of trafficking for scam compounds in Myanmar and Cambodia.
