Anthropic is rolling out an update to its Claude Google Workspace connectors that expands what the AI agent can do in users’ accounts. The new capabilities focus on Gmail and Google Drive, including the ability to perform actions such as sending emails and managing files.
According to the update details described by outlets, Claude can already connect to Google Workspace apps to help search emails, retrieve information, and work with files. The upgrade adds more direct operational control: Claude can draft and reply within email threads and manage Drive files. In the NDTV report, Anthropic says Claude requests user approval before taking actions like sending, replying to, or forwarding emails. Organizations using Team or Enterprise plans can configure permissions so certain actions can proceed without repeated approval.
TechGenyz frames the change as a broader Workspace upgrade via connectors for Gmail and Drive. Both sources describe the update as adding practical action steps inside Workspace, while NDTV specifically highlights the approval and permissions model for executing email-related actions on the user’s behalf.
