BBC radio presenter Trevor Nelson says he has been diagnosed with a brain tumour, two months after he stepped back from work citing health issues. In June, he said he was taking further time off after a routine check-up and follow-up tests, adding that he would not speculate about what was wrong.

In an Instagram video posted in the latest update, Nelson explains that the tumour was discovered after he noticed problems during a medical assessment. He says he underwent “very serious” surgery, spent about a month recovering at home, and has had post-operative treatment. He also says he feels well and is “almost back” to himself, with plans to return to radio and DJ gigs.

Outlets report that he previously led shows for Radio 2 and hosted on Radio 1Xtra. The reporting emphasizes that he did not provide details in June, which led to public speculation. Both sources describe his message as reassuring and focused on recovery rather than on extensive medical detail, and note well-wishes from colleagues and listeners.
