Two alleged thieves are arrested after a burglary attempt at a jewellery shop in Gujarat’s Valsad district ends with them trapped inside and calling the police emergency number for help. The incident takes place on Wednesday night at BJ Jewellers in Sanjan village, under the Umargam subdivision, about 25 km from Vapi.

Police say the two men allegedly enter the shop by breaking its lock. Locals become suspicious and lower the shutter from outside, leaving the men confined inside. As a crowd gathers, the accused reportedly lock themselves inside and eventually call 112 (the emergency helpline) to request rescue. Officers arrive and rescue them; police also recover jewellery and alleged burglary tools from the premises. Some accounts also describe people outside trying to force open the shutter.

The outlets broadly agree on the core sequence: attempted burglary, shutter lowered by residents, the suspects trapped, and a 112 call leading to police action. They differ mainly on identifying details and the suspects’ origin and surrender circumstances, with one report citing named individuals and police seeking custody to investigate possible links to other crimes.
